Simone Bryant is an educator, performer, and advocate for transformative change who uses her voice, artistry, and platform to uplift, inspire, and empower others. A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Simone graduated Magna Cum Laude from Benedict College in 2023, earning her Bachelor of Business Administration. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, continuing a legacy of scholarship, service, and sisterhood.
Following her undergraduate studies, Simone relocated to Dallas, Texas, where she began her career in political communications. She served as the Press and Outreach Coordinator for Congressman Marc Veasey of TX-33, gaining valuable experience at the intersection of public service, advocacy, and community engagement. Driven by her passion for education and impact, she is currently continuing her academic journey and is set to graduate in Summer 2026 with a Master of Arts in Teaching, with a concentration in Secondary Education from Duke University.
Simone currently serves as a student teacher at Durham School of the Arts, where she instructs the courses of Advanced Placement African American Studies and Civic Literacy. In addition to her work in the classroom, she is conducting capstone research examining how teacher-leaders use arts integration to enhance student learning and engagement. A true champion of the arts, Simone believes in its power not only as a form of expression, but as a catalyst for connection, identity, and academic success.
In 2021, Simone founded a nonprofit organization formerly known as The Umoja Dance Organization, Inc., on the campus of Benedict College. Created to unite individuals from diverse backgrounds through the arts, the organization reflects her commitment to cultural expression and community building. In Fall 2026, she plans to relaunch the organization under its new name, The Unity Group, Inc., in collaboration with Durham Public Schools, expanding its reach and impact within the community she now serves.
As Miss Black North Carolina USA, Simone proudly champions her platform, “D.A.R.E. to Be Dynamically You!”; a movement designed to empower individuals, especially Black women, to boldly pursue their God-given gifts and talents despite societal barriers. This mission is rooted in faith and purpose, and was created to uplift and restore confidence despite the current climate where Black women are navigating both unprecedented visibility and continued barriers.
Through her D.A.R.E. framework, Simone promotes:
● Dynamic Dreaming — Inspiring bold vision and purpose-driven ambition
● Authentic Artistry — Celebrating and elevating all forms of artistic expression
● Radiant Representation — Increasing visibility and honoring the beauty of diverse voices and
experiences
● Empowering Education — Expanding access to knowledge, resources, and opportunities that transform
lives
Through each pillar, Simone encourages women to dream without limitation, create without fear, and walk confidently in their calling. As a vocalist and artist herself, she is especially passionate about amplifying creative voices and ensuring the arts remain accessible and valued. She is equally committed to advancing educational equity and fostering representation that reflects the richness and diversity of her community. With grace, purpose, and unwavering faith, Simone Bryant continues to inspire others to embrace their authenticity and step boldly into the fullness of who they are; because when you D.A.R.E to be Dynamically You, the possibilities are limitless!
