Official Preliminary State Pageant^®

The Miss Black North CarolinaScholarship Pageant/ Miss Black North Carolina USA Talented Teen Pageant^® was developed to promote cultural, social, and leadership status, on a state and national level, within the African American Community. It provides a forum for today's African American woman to express their viewpoints, talents and accomplishments to audiences.

The Miss Black North Carolina USA/ Miss Black North Carolina USA Talented Teen Pageant System exists to provide personal and professional opportunities for African American women and to promote their voices in culture, politics and the community. It is also one of the nation's leading achievement programs as well as one of the largest provider of scholarship assistance for African-American women.

Pageant Requirements:

(Miss) Be between the ages of 18 to 27 and completed High School
~ (Teen) Be between the ages of 14 to 17 and still in High School
Be a resident of North Carolina or enrolled in a High School,
N.C. College or University
Be a United States Citizen
Be in reasonably good health to meet job requirements
Meet character criteria set forth by the Miss Black NC System
Be able to meet commitments and job responsibilities set forth by the NC Pageant system
Single/ Never Married

The Miss Black North Carolina/ Miss Black North Carolina Talented Teen^® competition judging system is designed to promote diversity, individuality and overall achievement among all contestants. Contestants are scored on a 1-10 point scale, in whole numbers, in each category. All judges will be educated on the Miss Black North Carolina USA^® Pageant system and represent a variety of professional sectors in their communities.
